And start working! Tomorrow morning I’m taking the kids to see Monsters Inc on Ice in the company suite - whoohoo! Then we’ve got the fly up ceremony for my oldest - she is going to become a Junior Girl Scout. And then is the boy’s birthday party. My little guy turned 5 yesterday! Last of all, we’ve got a little guest overnight for a sleepover tomorrow night as well. Which means I should stop chatting and finish my deviled eggs for the party tomorrow and get some rest! Poor Jim went over to my moms to get the pool deck all cleaned for the party. She’s going to be sorry she said we could have it there - I think we’ve got about 25 people coming? Ay yi yi!

We’re home from our weekend adventure. We left, van loaded with kids and mommies on Friday afternoon and stopped in Lakeland for Applebee’s, making it to our hotel that evening. We had a great 2 bedroom suite at a hotel right by Universal. The location allowed us to make it to the park by opening and we had a great day. The weather was perfect - not too hot and even a nice breeze for most of the day! The park wasn’t even that crowded - the longest wait we had for a ride was 20 minutes. My mom took the younger kids at one point and I took off with my oldest so we could hit some fun big girl rides. The park has added a few things since I was there last. MIB Alien Attack & Shrek 4D were ours favorites. We skipped Twister and Terminator due to the PG 13 warnings on those. I was bummed that new Mummy Ride doesn’t open for another 2 weeks! There was also and there was no Water World attraction, which Laura said is at the Universal in California.

Today’s my 1 year blogiversary for this site
A lot has happened in the past year - my new job and our new house are probably the biggest things for us! But I’ve also made up with old friends, had to deal with a new friend moving away, watched my kids grow another year older…
Happy Blogiversary to me! I’m off to Orlando for the weekend to visit Universal Studios, so no wild parties while I’m gone, and don’t drink all of my beer. K?

If you lost a mattress of the back of your pickup truck while you were moving, you’d probably realize this as soon as it went flying across 3 lanes of traffic, right? If not, definitely by that evening when it was time for bed, right?
I noticed a mattress in the middle of the highway on my way home last night. Tonight, it was moved to the median at least.
Someone is missing a mattress. Given all the white trash in the area, I’m surprised it’s lasted this long on the side of the road!

Ladies, it’s sandal season. If you are going to wear sandals, please make sure that your feet are in shape for sandals. Nicely MANICURED toenails - not talons. Yellow nails are gross, paint over those things. HEELS - my god your heels! Crusty should never be used to desribe your heels. Pay for a decent pedicure and they’ll drill that shit right off. Your sandals should fit your feet, not hang 1 inch off the heel. That goes for the toes also, it makes my feet hurt to look at your size 9 foot crammed into that size 8 shoe.
If you can’t handle this, I don’t want to see your fred flinstone feet in pretty shoes.

One of the choir moms just called about the collection for the choir teacher’s gift. She was the teacher’s aide in my younger daughters classroom so she does know me and we’ve chatted on several occasions.
I answer, and she says: “Hi, this is Mrs. So-and-So, is your mom home?”
Pause. “Umm…I am the mom!”
I get that ALL the time! People I meet in person don’t say I sound like a child, but over the phone people always say I sound younger than I am. She and I laughed it off…she still didn’t think it was me!
Once, when I was a brand new 19 year old mom in my brand new home, someone selling some crizap came to my door and asked if my MOM was home. My husband thought it was hilarous. I think I’d find it funny if it happened now, I wish I looked 19 again! (Hey, a little $$ and botox and it could be possible again….LOL)

We’re off to Target this afternoon - someone has a $20 gift card she can’t wait to spend and I’m going to be just as bad with my cash. They’ve got the pots I want for my front porch on sale, and I’m going to snag red geraniums to plant in them. I got inspired looking at the Target sale flyer this morning! Maybe some window boxes and impatiens also? It’s hard to pick flowers for Florida - I’m not really a gardener and it’s so freaking sunny and hot that a lot of beautiful plants won’t do well here. The front yard is shaded by a huge tree tho, so I hope my little flowers will make it….pictures to follow!

My oldest made her 1st Communion today! I uploaded a few pictures. She looked so cute and my hair guy did her up with a little do for her veil. We had a party here after the ceremony for her with her aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. She got some really nice gifts, but the most thoughtful was from Jim’s mom. She had Jim’s dads mothers (who would be Catherine’s long deceased great grandmother) rosary and gave it to Catherine
It was a fantastic day and we’re so proud. And tired.
