My husband took the kids to the beach this weekend. And I’m here. Soooo happy to have the house all to my lonesome! It all started when my mother decided she wanted to take the children away for a long weekend when they had a day off of school. My husband decided to join them, and oh….boo hoo hoo! I can’t go because I have to work tomorrow. I could hardly contain myself as they were all packing up to leave.

Don’t get me wrong - I’m all for family togetherness, but in a family of 5, a state of “quiet” is rare. I used to get some time to myself when I was a stay at home mom, but now my time is spent either at work, at school, or with my kids. Not exactly sitting on my ass reading dirty novels.

So my plan for the weekend is to enjoy sleeping in the bed ALL by myself. Tomorrow I’ll be off to work early because I don’t have to drive carpool in the morning. My boss is begging me to work some overtime so I might oblige him. A friend is coming over to help me study for my test this week tomorrow night. Saturday I am sleeping in. As in, sleeping til whenever the hell I wake up! I haven’t slept in for a long time. And considering I worked 20 hours in OT last week, I think I deserve it. I’ve got my girlies coming over Saturday afternoon to scrapbook. Saturday night Jim will return him for some adult alone time *wink wink nudge nudge*. And Sunday the kids return with Grandma.
