I couldn’t believe how tired I was this morning when that damn alarm went off. I’m not used to getting up since school is out. And even when school was in session, “getting up” consisted of staying in my jammies, throwing some cereal at the kids, and sleeping with one eye open on the couch til carpool picked them up.
I spent the morning in a training session. Yawning. Trying to stay away. At least I had internet access. Got the tour around the office, introduced here and there, saw my cubicle, met my computer, etc. I spent the day watching someone else do his job so I could learn how to do mine, which as you can imagine, was tres exciting.
Ate lunch by myself. Poor new girl with no friends yet!
Found out my office dress code is “Florida business casual” which translates into no jeans or capris, except on casual Fridays, but ANY sandal is cool as long as it’s not a pair of flip flops. This makes me very happy. I was dreading wearing heels, or worse yet, buying a bunch of shoes I would only wear for work.
Drive home was awful - over a freaking hour in hellish traffic. Rushed thru dinner and now I’m going to soak in the hot tub for a bit. Rinse, repeat, and do it all again tomorrow.
