My girlies are home from camp and it turns out I did miss them - I just didn’t know it ’til I saw their smiling little faces looking at me as soon as I entered their cabin. My littlest jumped into my arms and held on. She says she missed me “a lot” while the older says she only missed me “a little”.

So a few minor bug bites aside, they’ve survived their first time away from home, and perhaps more importantly, away from air conditioning & TV! I did have to ask why the bar of soap was unopened and elder girl child claims she thought it was a box of batteries, so they used shampoo to wash themselves. Uhh….ok. Might need a bleach rinse off tonight for those two!
